These are not so much a pest as an eyesore. They can ruin the look of a lawn but also casts can be disturbed by foot traffic or mowers etc and soil is spread over the surface of the lawn making weed infestation a threat. The best remedy is to use a besom broom, on a dry day, to sweep away the casts.
